Nov 04, 2018: The first trial commercial cargo containing 25 tons of apples, under cover of TIR (Transports Internationaux Routiers) transferred from Afghanistan to Pakistan.
Mr. Abdullah Raqibi, Deputy Minister of Customs and Revenue at Ministry of Finance, Mr. Imam Mohammad Warymoch, Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration at Ministry of Transport, Mohammad Yunus Mohmand, deputy head of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries, officials of line offices participated in the event held in Afghanistan Customs and Tax Academy.

“Commencing TIR system, ease, safety and transparency will come to transportation system,” said Mr. Imam Mohammad Warymoch, Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration at Ministry of Transport while stating the importance of the system. “Using TIR system leads to increase Afghan exports to neighbor countries and a significant role in economic growth and prosperity, he added.
“Making use of TIR system created a lot of facilities for Afghanistan and National Traders and can be used to control and monitor the weight of high-tonnage vehicles,” said Haji Mohammad Yunus Mohmand, deputy head of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
“TIR system increased speed, accuracy and transparency in transportation and bring more ease to the trade affairs” said Mr. Abdullah Raqibi, Deputy Minister of Customs and Revenue at Ministry of Finance. “Customs and Revenue Department is intend to implement the system and cooperate with all relevant departments in the center and provinces in the lights of applicable law,” he added.
It is worth mentioning that, the member countries of TIR will easily be able to transfer their commercial properties to one another in in this way to the third countries, which currently including Afghanistan there are 74 countries.
